Implementation Case 1

March 1996 - A regional telephone company (ARTC) was relying on a hodge-podge of legacy staffing systems to support an enterprise with 60,000 active employees and 12,000 jobs to fill each year. The legacy systems fragmented the staffing process between external and internal candidates, and were not Y2K compliant.

dgStaff was implemented in two phases to meet ARTC's needs. In the first phase, external candidates for all occupational positions were processed. dgStaff features provided significant improvements in workflow, and introduced the capability of reviewing the history of returning applicants. This capability resulted in reducing redundant pre-employment testing and catching previously disqualified candidates before they were processed further.

In addition to tracking all staffing activities, dgStaff supported the scheduling of all pre-employment testing, and provided an interface to an external recruiting service.
